New Water Supply, Storage, and Distribution System – Town of Black Brook, New York
Construction has been completed on a new water supply and distribution system, including a 225,000 gallon water storage tank for the Town of Black Brook, New York. This drinking water system improvement project will provide Black Brook Water District No.1 with a sufficient supply, adequate storage, and effective distribution to provide reliable water to residents of the district. Previously, the system was vulnerable to disruption due to water main damage caused by flooding events along the Ausable River. The newly constructed flood-resilient infrastructure includes:
- A groundwater supply capable of providing a sufficient source of high quality water to service the existing district.
- A 225,000 gallon water storage tank that is capable of providing one day storage plus fire flow volume.
- Approximately 4,100 feet of water main to connect the water supply and tank to the existing water system.
Laberge Group partnered with the Town to secure more than $750,000 in CSC funding and more than $1,000,000 New York State Water Improvement Act (WIIA) funding to defray costs for this vital water infrastructure project that will benefit residents for decades to come.
