Town of Schodack, NEW YORK
Water system EXPANSION Route 9 South

Laberge Group was retained by the Town of Schodack, NY in Rensselaer County to extend municipal water services along Route 9 South. This project connects to the existing water main near the Amazon Distribution Center and extends services to the southern Town/County border. The extension improves public health and safety by providing individual homes and businesses that had been dependent on private water wells with access to safe, potable, and reliable municipal drinking water. The additional municipal service is critically important as it encourages and supports future business development along this busy corridor.
This extension includes the installation of 26,500 linear feet of pipe, 24 valves, 43 water hydrants, and a 500,000 gallon water storage tank.
Laberge Group provided the following services:
Development of a Map, Plan and Report.
Environmental reviews.
Surveying services.
Preliminary plans and final system design.
Permit, bidding, and contract administration services.
Construction observation.
$10,050,000 in Rensselaer County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding was committed to support the design and implementation of this important water distribution system project via an Inter Municipal Agreement (IMA) between the County and the Town of Schodack.
