Funding Announcement – $325 Million in WIIA / IMG Grants in 2024
Applications went live this week for the next round $325 million in WIIA/IMG funding to assist municipalities in developing and implementing clean water infrastructure projects.
With applications due June 14th, 2024 – the time to prepare your community for funding success is now. A competitive application is built on a strong project that is developed from the outset to meet both the needs of your community and the priorities of the funding agency. Preparing a competitive application for your community may require:
- Engineering report development
- Environmental review (SEQRA)
- Financing plan and bond resolution
- District formation

WHAT’S NEW
This round of WIIA/IMG has been changed to maximize benefits for small, rural, and disadvantaged communities. The changes include:
- Clean Water grants for small, rural, and disadvantaged communities are increasing from 25% to 50% of net eligible project costs.
- Expanding EFC’s Community Assistance Teams program to provide additional support to small, rural, and disadvantaged communities impacted by deteriorating water infrastructure and emerging contaminants.
- Increasing awards for emerging contaminant (PFAS) projects from 60% to 70% of net eligible project costs.
