JOINT CONSOLIDATION AGREEMENT PUBLIC INFORMATION & MEETINGS
Thank you for remaining informed regarding the Town and Village of New Paltz Proposed Joint Consolidation Agreement.
Referendum Vote - November 3, 2026
The Village of New Paltz Board of Trustees and the Town Board of the Town of New Paltz contemporaneously set a date for a referendum on the question of consolidation of the Village and Town to be held on Election Day. November 3, 2026. The referendum question shall be in a form reading substantially as follows:
“Should the Village of New Paltz be consolidated with the Town of New Paltz? ___Yes ___No.”
Residents of both the Village of New Paltz and the area of the Town of New Paltz outside the Village are encouraged to vote on the Referendum.
In order for consolidation to occur, it must be supported by a majority of the votes cast in the Village and a majority of the votes cast in the Town-Outside-Village.
