The petition contained 618 valid signatures out of 644. The Town Clerk reviewed and certified the petition on August 10, 2020. In July, 2020 the electorate of the Village of Pawling filed a petition for consolidation to the Village Clerk. The petition contained 165 valid signatures out of 176. The Village Clerk reviewed and certified the petition on August 7, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>As required by law, the Village Board met on September 1, 2020 to pass a resolution calling for a Village referendum on the proposed consolidation, while the Town Board met on September 2, 2020 to pass a resolution calling for a Town referendum on the proposed consolidation. Both the Village and Town referendums are scheduled for November 30.<\/p>\n<p>Please check the <a href=\"https:\/\/labergegroup.com\/pawling\/meetings-public-engagement\/\">Meetings &amp; Public Information<\/a> page for full information on upcoming Public Information Meetings and the Town and Village referendums.<\/p>\n<p>The Town and Village Boards determined it appropriate to develop an <em>Interim Study of Consolidation<\/em> to assist the residents of Pawling in understanding the effects and costs of consolidation, as well as any potential alternatives that may be preferred prior to the vote on consolidation.
