Community Conversation on Downtown Needs and Priorities

Representatives from The Village of Hempstead were invited to share project information with the members of the The Long Island Regional Economic Development Council (LIREDC) in November.

Many thanks to all those who attended the “Community Conversation on Downtown Needs and Priorities” held via Zoom on September 24th, 2024. Your participation during this Community Conversation will help to shape the Village of Hempstead community for years, decades, and generations to come.

During this Community Conversation we:

Discussed what you, as members of the community, see as the challenges facing Downtown Hempstead as well as the opportunities for economic development
Discussed your “vision” for Downtown Hempstead, as well as steps you think will help us get there
Explored strategic sites and discussed strategies and catalytic action that can help achieve quality downtown revitalization
Discussed resource needs, potential collaborators, and possible priorities
